Daily Chasidus Made Easy
All Chasidim recognize the importance of the daily learning of Chasidus, and that their lives would be completely different with it. Yet, it’s still a challenge: getting stuck, fumbling between maamorim, and the fact that maintain a daily regimen requires a lot of perseverance.
This Friday, Chof-Daled Teves, marks the launch of an innovative Chasidus study program. The daily study consists of one column of Torah Ohr and later Likutei Torah.
Dach Yomi provides weekly publications containing the daily section in clear typeset and punctuation, easy-to-read Hebrew explanation and an English synopsis. It’s a 20-minute-a-day dose of Chasidus.
The publication is downloadable online at Dachyomi.com. Also available online is a special smartphone version arranged in a fit-to-screen single column for easy scrolling. Hard copies are available in central Anash communities thanks to The Print House. Access to the audio shiurim of the daily column is available online.
Dach Yomi is the project of Rabbi Shimon Chyrek, a Crown Heights sofer, who saw the need and stepped up to the plate. Rabbi Chyrek solicited the help of Rabbi Levi Gelb, author of the popular ‘Di Chasidishe Parsha’ series, to prepare the explanation. Editors Rabbi Moshe Marinovsky and Rabbi Nadav Cohen grouped together for a lucid and flowing explanation. The English synopses are being prepared by Rabbi Binyomin Walters.
The choice of Torah Ohr–Likutei Torah for daily Chasidus was no accident. Aside from its pedestal as a foundation of Chasidus, the Rebbe instructed, on several occasions, to complete these seforim. At the Kinus Hashluchim of 5752, the Rebbe compared these works to the Rambam’s all-inclusive work, and said that learning Torah Ohr–Likutei Torah will actualize the coming of Moshiach faster. At the pace of a column a day, it would take four and a half years to complete the entire corpus.
The goal of the project is that every member of Anash should have easy access to the daily study of Chasidus.
The team is working hard to be ready in advance, now working on the sixth week of publications. The text project, which employs the expertise of seven researchers and writers, has been structured to cost a minimal of $1,000 per week. The audio project costs $500 per week. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
