“The Lubavitcher Rebbe Has Arrived in Warsaw”

The Circus Tent Blog published a recently discovered clipping of the Warsaw-based Yiddish newspaper “Radio,” announcing the arrival of the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe in the Polish capital in 1931.

After his miraculous escape from the Soviet Union in 1927, the Rebbe Rayatz settled in Riga, Latvia. In 1931, he left Latvia for Poland, settling first in Warsaw and then in the suburb of Otwock until the outbreak of World War II.
