Rabbi Chaim Meir Bukiet (1919-1998)

R. Bukiet’s Explanations on the Haggadah Adapted

Rabbi Chaim Meir Bukiet a”h, the Rosh Yeshivah of the central Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch for over thirty years, left thousands of written pages of chidushei Torah. The notebooks cover from Gemarah to Nach, from Pirkei Avos to Shluchan Aruch. In addition he wrote many explanations on the Haggadah.

His grandson Dovid Zaklikowski adapted several of them for Chabad.org. They include an explanation on Korech to why Urchatz comes after Karpas.

The beloved Rosh Yeshivah was known for his brilliant Gemarah Shiurim and short vertlach that he would share at farbrengens. This is the first time that some of those vertlach were adopted in English.
