Chanukah with Chabad at CALTECH

PASADENA, CA [CHI] — The California Institute of Technology (CALTECH), one of the top ten universities in the world, held its first public Menorah lighting on campus this Chanukah. On Thursday night, December 6th, over eighty students, family members and faculty, gathered outside Caltech’s main dining hall for an outdoor Menorah lighting ceremony and Chanukah celebration.

Rabbi Chaim Danzinger, a Chabad Rabbi in Pasadena, spoke about the meaning of Chanukah and it’s relevance to modern-day life. A six-foot Menorah was then kindled and everyone relished the delicious latkes, doughnuts, and refreshments.

Rabbi Chaim and Kaila Danzinger were appointed by Rabbi Hanoka of Chabad of Pasadena, where Chaim serves as the Program Director. Recently, the Danzingers initiated an outreach campaign for the students of Caltech, and now they regularly host Friday-night dinners, lunch-and-learns and other educational programs.
