Chanukah at the Victorian Parliament

MELBOURNE, Australia — A Chanukah Menorah was lit in the Victorian parliament by the Chabad House of the center of Melbourne. The ceremony was honored with the presence of the PM of Victoria John Brumby, head of the opposition, Ted Baillieu, ministers and members of Parliament, apart of the 200 Rabbis and important members of the Jewish community of Melbourne.

The celebration opened with an address from the director of the Chabad House center of Melbourne, Rabbi Chaim Herzog and when the Premier took the microphone, he prised the work of Rabbi Herzog and of the shluchim that help him in his efforts to inspire Judaism in Melbourne, in a way that that affects the entire state of Victoria whose residents coexist in peace and harmony.
