Hawaii’s First Ever Chanukah Menorah Parade

HONOLULU, HI [CHI] — Tuesday, the first night of Chanukah Hawaii witnessed something they have never seen before, a 50 Car Menorah Parade. The community participated in its first ever Chanukah Menorah parade driving around Honolulu and lighting up the nights of Hawaii with the light and joy of Chanukah.

The Car Menorahs were hand built by the Talmidei Ha’Shluchim of Hawaii under Rabbi Itchel Krasnjansky and his wife Pearl. The
painting was done by the little children of the “Daniel Levy Chabad Hebrew Day School” who did a magnificent job painting them in the beautiful Hawaiian colors.

The Parade concluded at the Grand Menorah lighting at Waikiki Gateway Park with the governor of Hawaii Linda Lingle, a very close friend of Chabad. With hundreds in attendance she gave her blessings to the community and was amazed at the beautiful parade and said that next year it should be even bigger.

The parade was arranged by the Bochurim of the Yeshivah.

The photos were taken by Marco Garcia.
