A Unique Yud Tes Kislev Gathering in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ [CHI] — This year all across the world Yud Tes Kislev was celebrated marking the 211th year of the first Chabad Rebbe, the Alter Rebbe’s redemption from imprisonment in Russia. This day is known as the New Year of Chassidus. However, amongst Chasidim, Yud Tes Kislev is also coined as the Bris of a Chossid.

Rabbi Shmuel Dovid Rapaport the ShlIach of Atlantic City NJ said that “this year we had a unique Yud Tes Kislev gathering. The community got together to celebrate the bris of twin boys born to Jake and Judi Daniel – prominent community members and Chabad affiliates. The Bris event has served as an opportunity to inspire and Farbreng with the community.”

It all started some six months ago when Rabbi Shmuel Dovid and Tova Rapaport had their own son’s bris. They were looking to have the bris as a Chabad function with the opportunity to inspire the community. They called Rabbi Levi Heber a Mohel of Crown Heights to come and perform the Bris. “To this day community members still speak about how wonderful the Bris function was” said Tova Rapaport. “Our son’s Bris has given us the opportunity to inspire our community as no other function can”.

Rabbi Shmuel Dovid was honored with reading the Rabbis Letter as well as the blessings and naming at the bris. Rabbi Yisroel Rapaport a friend of the Daniel’s and a Shliach in Vineland NJ, addressed the gathered audience at the Daniel’s Twin boys Bris providing some insight as to the significance of the bris and Yud Tes Kislev.
