NEW YORK, NY [CHI] — On Nov. 16-17 the Teen Club at Lubavitch on the Palisades directed by Rabbi Chaim and his wife Yocheved Boyarsky organized a Shabbaton to NYC.

Some 40 high school teens stayed in a beautiful hotel in the heart of Manhattan, ate delicious food catered exclusively by Dorna’s and Deli Kasbah’s, prayed at the Carlebach Shul and the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue. They got to meet 100 Jewish teens from Toronto, and were inspired by a wonderful speaker from Israel, Doron Kornbluth. Doron spoke about the importance of Jewish pride.

They were taken to a beautiful Havdallah ceremony in Times Square, a very entertaining mentalist show at Jerusalem2 Pizza, ESPN Zone, Ripley’s Believe it or Not. One of the major highlights of the trip was the visit to the Rebbe’s gravesite known as the Ohel, where the teens prayed for themselves, and for their families, they made wonderful resolutions as well.

One of the resolutions the teens made, were to have a Friday night teen service each week, where the kids would come pray, do Kiddush and learn about the relevance of the weekly parhsa to the 21st century.

The group was joined together with Chabad of Toronto lead by Rabbi Shmuli Nachlas and Rabbi Meir Gitlin.
