Chabad of the Beaches Expands

PONTE VEDEA BEACH, FL — Chabad of the Beaches is proud to announce that we have purchased the home adjacent to Chabad. The home will serve as a residence for the Kurinsky family. This much anticipated purchase will allow for Chabad to make full use of our current Chabad House. The new Chabad center is sponsored by Mr. Michael and Fiona Scharf.

The new expansion of the Chabad center will provide space for educational, social, cultural, life cycle, and family events, and will serve as a spiritual and physical resource center for the Beaches area.

The programs and services of The Chabad House are offered to all, regardless of affiliation, background, or membership. The Chabad @ the beaches was established on the foundation of the worldwide Chabad-Lubavitch movement: “Love Thy Fellow as Thyself”; with that being the guiding principle behind every thought, speech, and action at Chabad.

Expanded Sanctuary- Chabad’s sanctuary or Shul room will double in size. We will be removing the kitchen and reception area to allow for much larger crowds in our Chabad Center.

Jewish Lending Library- This library, the first of its kind in Jacksonville, will offer great books to enjoy in the library or in the comfort of your home. The fun and interactive children’s books in Chabad’s library, teach important values, such as kindness and good deeds. The Library will host many new and exciting programs and events. New Hebrew School Classroom- Does your child LOVE Hebrew School? Children at the Beaches Hebrew School love coming to Hebrew school. Every Sunday from 9:45-11:30 AM, loving and experienced teachers will help your child experience a wonderful journey into their Jewish heritage and culture. Through arts and crafts, song and music children can take an active role in their Judaism.

Kitchen- our new kitchen will offer state of the art commercial cooking.

Playroom- We will now have a place for the children to play during services. The new playroom will include wall mounted toys to ensure organized play times for our most important members – the children.

Building a new synagogue edifice provides an opportunity to honor those we love as well as well as to create a living memorial to those who are no longer with us.

Tributes and memorials express respect and love. They can perpetuate a family’s name; the can honor the good works of an individual; they can immortalize the memory of someone we cherished. Through the years, they can inspire us, our children, and grandchildren, whenever we pray, study, or assemble within the walls of our synagogue. Each dedication and tribute will reflect the thoughtful generosity of the donor, and will be honored accordingly.
