In addition to feting the honorees, the evening commemorated the somewhat recent acquisition of 18 acres of land in Princeton Township, on which Chabad of Greater Mercer County will be building a comprehensive Chabad Center. Groundbreaking is anticipated within the next six months.
Following a lavish cocktail hour, the guests were treated with a magnificent sit down dinner. During the evening’s program during which the guests heard from each of the couples being honored, those present had the opportunity to view a video depicting not only the activities of the Chabad movement worldwide, but also included a glimpse into the numerous programs sponsored by Chabad locally.
Since the arrival of Rabbi Dovid and Malka Dubov in Princeton fifteen years ago, Chabad of Greater Mercer County has grown to seven fulltime branches, each with its own fulltime Rabbi and his wife and family. The newest local Chabad Center, Chabad at the College of New Jersey, was founded just two months ago.
Mr. Steven Heller served as the Master of Ceremonies at the event. The D’var Torah was given by Charles Punia, and the group was further greeted by the Honorable Phyllis Marchand, Mayor of Princeton Township and by Rabbi Moshe Herson, Dean of the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown. A most enjoyable evening was had by all in attendance.
