Perm Jewish Community Sets Up Health Fund
PERM, Russia -– The Jewish community of Perm have set up a Health Fund, the objective of which is to provide financial assistance to the needy and medical assistance to community members. While previously, it did what it could in these regards, there is no doubt that with the establishment of this Fund, taking care of local Jews can be taken to a new level.
This concept was initiated by Chief Rabbi of Perm Zalman Deutch, a Chabad Lubavitch emissary serving Jews in this region of Russia. He has done everything possible to attract the involvement of upstanding community members in this important social project.
Organizers of this Fund have prepared a list of persons who are chronically in need of medication. First and foremost, these members will regularly be provided the aid that they need. The first one hundred beneficiaries have already received the medicine they need to improve their health.
The Jewish community of Perm is a member of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia.
