A great highlight of this retreat took place last week, when campers and counselors joined Chief Rabbi of Vinnitsa Shaul Horovitz and his wife Chana for a pilgrimage to Medzhibozh, the birthplace of the Baal Shem-Tov. Rabbi Horovitz also told them about the role played by local Jews in the development of the region.

The Jewish community of Vinnitsa is a member of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine. The Ohr Avner Chabad Day School is part of a Jewish educational network spanning the Former Soviet Union thanks to the generous sponsorship of FJC Presidents Lev Leviev.
