i dont think such a picture should be put on a chabad website!! where are our tznius border lines???????? i’m shocked. nothing personal to the couple and much hatzlach, but i cannot not say anything, this is really ‘lo matim’

  • dovid

hatzlacha raba on your shlichus. and btw the picture ‘past nit’ for a shliach who represents the meshaleiach.

    for what it’s worth,
I am glad that you are going out on Shlichus, but 2 points:
    1) since when do we post pictures of the woman?
    2) The picture that you choose to post should reflect aidelkeit and chassidishket.
This is a sight that could promote chabad, but could also Chas V’Sholom do the opposite.

And you didn’t ever come to us for a Shabbos in Flatbush!

Shalom Ber and Missus, now is your Big Chance!

    (In any case, MAZAL TOV!)

  • A Chossid

Am I the only one who felt this picture wasn’t appropriate (too close together) for shluchim?

This isn’t a photo in a frame in their parents’ house. This is a photo depicting shluchim of the Rebbe!

  • Ah Deah Zoger

In my humble opinion I think that the woman deserves just as much credit as the men. When a couple go out on Shlichus, the woman’s role is equally as important as that of her husbands, and therefore deserves proper recognition.

In line with what some comments mentioned about this photo not jiving right, I think I agree, a more appropriate photo should have been used.

And BTW Hatzlacha Rabah on your new Shlichus!

  • A Shliach

to a chossid, no, I posted to that affect as well, writing those voicing your exact words that for the kovod of the meshaleach a more appropriate photo should have been used, unfortunately the webmaster did not find it fit to print. I’m glad he printed yours. v’chen yiru vyaasu…..

To those who commented that this picture is not appropriate especially posting pictures of women, the Rebbe did not just speak to the men but the women as well. I think some extremists in our Lubavitch society can be extremely self-rightous assuming that the men should only be given credit for the shlichus position. Today, that is absolutely false. When looking at the couple, it is the women’s credentials that are often analyzed. Does she have her degree so that we could be on that same educational status as our balei batim. The men do not need writing skills. They do not need basic education. But the women do. So stop the nauseating judgement calls. If you do not like to see pictures of women posted, then do not uphold double standards by welcoming the the wives of shluchim as well but only valuing them if they could compete with their new community members!

  • A Shliach

    to cl:
either you are deliberately avoiding the issue or you are clueless. The objection was not to the woman in the photograph, it was to the pose. It was plainly written and self understood, unless you have an ax to grind

  • disgusted

i think everyone should worry about their own level of tznuis. do you think your perftect enough to start working on other ppls tznius levels?? i think embarresing this couple is much worse a sin than put a borderline pic on our own community website. the poor couple who are about to embark on shlichus of their own are already being put down> by our own kind? where is your support? where is you shame?

  • devorah and tzvi

so i finally figured out this sight.i am so happy for you guys!! i know that you have both been wanting this very much and i hope that you are successful and happy. let me know when your settled in so you can show me around.
    good luck!!! love you!!!

  • shocked

to all those who posted regarding the properness of the couple’s picture. i am apalled by how you communicate your negative and completely opinionated thoughts. you have insulted and hurt this couple. to embarrass someone in public is like murder. its comments like this that turn people away. you never know who is reading. you should be ashamed of yourselves. i would not want to be associated with people who care more about tznius then midos. you need to rethink your priorities. if you have nothing nice or constructive to say, dont say anything at all. i think the picture portrays a couple who is friendly and energetic, exactly what a couple should be if they go on shlichus. i commend them.
