Georgetown Has Largest Lag BaOmer Yet

Over 2,500 men, women, and children attended the largest yet annual Lag Ba’omer festival, at Chabad of Georgetown organized by Rabbi Avraham Holtzberg.

Participants enjoyed entertainment, a barbecue, raffles, rides, music, a bonfire, and lots more.

An incredible drum band made up of a group of boys from Lubavitch Yeshiva in Crown Heights accompanied by Rabbi Goldstein wowed the crowd with their talent.

After Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, from Tzivos Hashem Headquarters who came accompanied by a lively group of bochurim, told the children the beautiful story behind the Lag Ba’omer celebration, many raffles with exciting prizes were distributed, including a grand prize raffle for a Nintendo Switch!

The crowds of people were free to spend their time among numerous different attractions, including a giant pirate ship, the Ferris Wheel, and Inflatable rides. There was even horseback riding and a petting zoo!

“It’s the greatest event of the year, everyone loves to come,” said a participant, “we look forward to it all year round!”

A full dinner was served, with over 3,500 burgers and hotdogs, ice cream, cotton candy and popcorn. As night fell a large traditional bonfire was lit, accompanied by music, singing, and dancing late into the night.
