Yaldei Hashluchim Gathered in Nuremberg, Germany

Twenty young Shluchim from six cities across Europe came together for an exciting and invigorating shabbaton in Nuremberg, Germany organized by MyShliach and hosted by local shluchim Rabbi Eliezer and Esther Chitrik.

Thursday evening began with an exciting game, followed by a Friday filled with special activities and Shabbos preparations with friends. Shabbos arrived with spirited davening, learning, delicious meals, and more activities. The boys enjoyed a short tour of Nuremberg on Motzoei Shabbos, and a grand banquet on Sunday ended the shabbaton.

Led by bochurim Mendy Malka and Eli Levin, the shabbaton was a rare opportunity for the young shluchim, who live hundreds of miles apart, to spend time with other boys their age.

“The purpose of these shabbatons,” explained Rabbi Dovale Halperin, director of MyShliach’s Hebrew Division, “is to address one of the biggest challenges for kids living on shlichus in distant places. They live far from Chabad communities and the lack of Chassidishe atmosphere and friendships with Chabad kids like themselves is very difficult. Through regional shabbatons, together with the various other programs we run throughout the year, we hope to fill this gap for these young shluchim and provide them with the Chassidishe kochos to continue their important shlichus.”

MyShliach is a project of Merkos Suite 302, directed by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky and run by his son, Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky. MyShliach would like to thank Rabbi Eliezer and Esther Chitrik, shluchim to Nuremberg, for graciously opening their home and Chabad House and for all of the time and energy they gave to host the shabbaton. Many thanks to Shmuel Eliyahu Hakohen Ben Bracha for sponsoring the shabbaton.
