Chabad Hosts Thanks-for-Giving Comedy Night
Chabad of Orange County, directed by Rabbi Pesach and Chana Burston, hosted an elegant Thanks-for-Giving comedy night on Sunday, November 6.
It was a night of FUN, in thanks for the donors that FUNd Chabad!
Held at the Rushmore Estate in Highland Mills, thanks to Dr. Seth Pulver, the evening featured wine, cheese, hors d’oeuvres, desserts an interactive comedy show by Isaacs & Baker. The opening monologue was by community member Dr. Sergey Koyfman of Chester. “The evening was made possible by and in thanks to the community support that enables Chabad to thrive in Orange County,” Rabbi Pesach commented.
How is Chabad funded?
Though Chabad Worldwide is bound together by a mutual vision, funding for Chabad of Orange County is not provided by Chabad Headquarters in Brooklyn. Each Chabad Center is responsible to raise its own budget. This is accomplished through cover fees, but mostly through private partners and donors who care about the community and share Chabad’s goals.
