Youth Shabbaton Rocks Odessa
A vibrant 3-day Shabbaton for all of the EnerJew clubs in Ukraine took place in sunny Odessa over the past weekend. EnerJew is the Jewish youth movement throughout the entire former soviet union, a project of Chabad’s Federation of Jewish Communities (FJC).
Jewish youth from eight cities across Ukraine participated in the Shabbaton in Odessa.
Over 150 teenagers gathered in the city’s Admiral Hotel for three days of activities, learning, fun and connection. The Shabbaton was organized and conducted by EnerJew’s coordinators, mentors and young rabbis, as well as the participants themselves.
In addition to spending the Shabbat together, the teenagers toured the city of Odessa on Sunday and learned about its rich history, enjoyed musical performances, listened to stimulating lectures and formed new friendships.
Besides the all-Ukrainian Shabbaton, group Shabbatons also took place in Belorussian cities, Minsk and Mogilev, bringing the participants together and amping the vibe and drive in the youth movement clubs.
