A Chassidic Birthday with Sushi, Vodka and Neshama

Brooklyn, NY — The Chabad Neshama Center was overflowing with young Russian American professionals who came to celebrate with their beloved Rabbi for his 30th Birthday. It was a real Chassidic Farbrengen with the warmth of Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit.

Rabbi Winner spoke about the significance of a birthday and why the Rebbe began the birthday campaign. The importance of taking account of ones spiritual growth and making positive resolutions to improve for the upcoming year. He also said a Chassidic discourse of the Rebbe in English (even though it’s generally recited in Yiddish) so that everyone may understand.

“What Rabbi Avrohom Winner and his wife Shula are doing with the young Russian American community in Manhattan Beach is unbelievable, we are not easy to get through to, but he sees our Neshama and that’s what we love about him” said Glen Teyf.

His father Rabbi Zushe Winner, Shliach to W Brighton Beach gave a L’chaim wishing him much success on all his endeavors and may he continue Mechayil el Choyil on his Shlichus inspiring his community.

Rabbi Avrohom Winner and his wife Shula are the Rebbe’s Shluchim to Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn, NY. They have ongoing lectures, JLI, a newly opened Sunday Hebrew School, an Early Childhood Center, a weekly Shabbos Minyan, Farbrengens and Holiday Programs. WOW; SUCH A BEAUTIFUL “CHASSIDISHE BIRTHDAY PARTY” SHUSHI,VODKA & ‘MIXED SEATING’.

  • A Friend!!

What determines Chassidish and what determines Frum?
Frum is determined by Shulchan Aruch black on white.
Chassidish is determined by doing what the Rebbe wants. More known as the grey area.

On shlichus when we are dealing with people who are not as of yet keeping torah and mitzvos to perfection when inviting them to an event without droping kol hatorah kula on them and overwhelm them, as I have seen in many Chabad houses if its not a minyan or a simcha on the level of a wedding or bar mitzvah (when its important and mandatory to show them the IMPORTANCE of TZNIUS) then it is done mixed seating and we as the rebbes Chassidim try to inspire them by teaching other aspects of yiddishkeit and with due time they will be up to this as well.

  • Protector of Chassidishkeit

This is obviously ok ONLY to fremde audiences so don’t take it as a hora-ah for yourself.
