Shliach Co-Chairs Florida Governor’s Inaugural Prayer

On Tuesday, January 6, Rabbi Raphael Tennenhaus, director of Chabad activities in south Broward, Florida, Co-Chaired the Governor of Florida Inaugural Prayer Breakfast, the only Rabbi to serve as one of six Co-Chairs for this prestigious, traditional event, that preceded the Inauguration of the Governor by 3 hours.

He was joined by the Shliach to Tallahassee , Rabbi Schneur Oreichman, and to Palm Beach Rabbi Moshe Scheiner, who both eloquently spoke at the breakfast and blessed the Governor, his family and staff. Rabbi Oreichman quoted the Rebbe’s plea to increase in acts of goodness and kindness to hasten the Redemption, and Rabbi Scheiner recited chapter 113 of Tehillim, the Rebbe’s Kapitel.

It was the fourth time that Rabbi Tennenhaus recently met with Governor Scott, who had visited Chabad of South Broward for the Chai Tots Preschool Chanukah Production on the first day of Chanukah in 2014, and participated at Florida’s Chanukah Festival, sponsored by Chabad of South Broward, at Gulfstream, in 2013.

Governor Rick Scott received the “Excellence of Education Award” from Chabad of South Broward, and his office requested that Rabbi Tennenhaus serve as Inaugural Prayer Breakfast Co-Chair, shortly after the Governors’ most recent visit to Hallandale Beach.

Rabbi Tennenhaus was joined in Tallahassee by his son, Rabbi Mendy Tennenhaus, Chabads’ Director of Development. Rabbi Oreichman was joined by his Rebbetzin and Rabbi Scheiner was joined by his family.

All four Rabbis who participated at the Inaugural Prayer Breakfast were impressed that the only Rabbis at this historic event were Chabad Chassidim and Shluchim.
