‘Happy Jewish Birthday’ Theme of Upstate Event

Chabad of Orange County’s Jewish Women’s Circle, led by Chana Burston, recently held its opening event of the year, “Happy Jewish Birthday” at the Chabad Center in Chester.

Attended by over thirty women from throughout the county, participants learned the art of cake decorating with culinary artist Michal Rimler of Monsey. Chana Burston led an interactive discussion group exploring the spirituality and meaning of a Jewish Birthday. All enjoyed deluxe ice-cream sundaes and desserts.

The Jewish Women’s Book Club, a division of the Women’s Circle also held its first meeting of the year.  “This is a wonderful opportunity for Jewish women of all affiliations and backgrounds to enjoy pleasurable reads, stimulating discussion and gain insights on a wide variety of books of Jewish interest,” says Chana Burston.  The Book Club meets once a month on Thursdays at the Chabad Center in Chester, and includes a nutritious lunch.

“Chabad of Orange County’s Jewish Women’s Circle is a place where women can come to discover and learn about the Jewish Faith and Jewish customs – not to mention to make great new friends,” says Bracha Pincus of Chester, who says she has been attending Women’s Circle events for many years.

The Jewish Women’s Circle provides the opportunity for women from throughout the county to relax and socialize while exploring both the physical and mystical aspects of their heritage.  Through innovative workshops, lectures and creative activities, participants explore contemporary Jewish issues and discuss subjects related to culture and tradition.
