Celebrating Religious Freedom in Simcha Monica

Each year, many thousands of spectators gather in S. Monica, California, for a grand parade in honor of the fourth of July. As usual, Chabad in S. Monica joined the parade with their float.

The parade, which runs for approximately two miles beginning on Main Street and going throughout the city, is filled with many kinds of floats, and since its inception, Chabad of S. Monica has joined the parade in order to spread the light of Judaism to the masses who join.

This year as usual, Chabad in S. Monica joined the parade with their float, which is sponsored by Butel construction. Sporting a Menorah painted red white and blue, and a banner which read “Utilizing our freedom to brighten the world”, the Chabad representatives sang popular Jewish songs and said verses of Torah which aroused Jewish pride among the bystanders.

After the parade, scores of men eagerly awaited their chance to put on Teffilin, and women to receive Shabbos candles.

A “Mitzvos on the spot” cart which accompanied the float required a numbers of refills of the many brochures of Jewish literature, including the Seven Noahide Laws which were distributed.
