Chabad Mobilizes for Israeli Terror Victims, Soldiers

Over 120 rockets have fallen on Israel over the past 24 hours; Baruch Hashem, there were no casualties. All summer camp programs have been cancelled – the children and their parents must remain at home so that they are near shelters. It is a very anxiety-filled situation, never knowing when or where the next rocket will hit. One can feel the tension and fear everywhere, especially among the children.

Chabad Terror Victims Project representatives are on the ground in the south of Israel, visiting homes and bringing treats for the children to help entertain them and take their minds off the fear they are experiencing.

The volunteers are also visiting soldiers near the front lines, bringing them various items which they have requested to make their situations more comfortable, as much as is possible under these fearful circumstances.

CTVP is now implementing a three-pronged emergency initiative:

1.  Organizing busses to take the children to the center of Israel so they will be out of the range of most of the rockets and able to have respite from their anxiety.

2.  Coordinating with all of their centers in the region to organize activities and visits to bomb shelters to help families.

3.  Keeping up a steady stream of volunteers going to the front lines to boost the morale of the soldiers, to let them know how much the Jewish people appreciate them, and to give them spiritual and physical nourishment.

The dangerous situation is expected to continue, R”L. CTVP has activated their ‘Situation Room’ called “Libeinu Itchem” (Our hearts are with you.)  They are recruiting additional volunteers to handle a special call center being set up for families who wish to leave the area temporarily to be out of the line of fire. Some will be located to Kfar Chabad for the duration.

  • restraint!!

This dramatic article only serves to frighten our family & friends back in the US. Obviously, the hardest hit areas in the south are impacted the most but this article is misleading in that it implies everywhere is being hammered. Don’t get me wrong, in no way am I minimizing the danger to our people in those areas. It is very, very bad. But for example, in my city we have had sirens, heared booms, & watched fighter jets scream overhead, but life goes on. It has to, we can’t let Hamas win the psychological war anymore than we will let them bomb us into the sea. Those days are over. I’m going on a tiyul with my family today, our plans were made & we are sensible & informed enough to be very careful & to avoid the areas that are under frequent attack.

I think your article is misleading. We are on alert, we are prepared, we know what to do, but please don’t exaggerate or at least clarify. One other thing – donate to help the IDF& the victims, & daven for us. We can use your tefilos, not your scaremongering.

  • Good luck on your trip

The rockets are being shot minute after minute to new targets. Our kinus was postponed for the safety of the participants and the families they were leaving home.

Yes, CTVP was a bit previous in their PR. Maybe the Shomron and far North are quiet. Hopefully for the remainder of this action, or Moshiach, whichever comes first..
