Five Towns Pays Tribute to the Rebbe

A capacity crowd filled Chabad of Five Towns to pay tribute to the Rebbe and reflect on his timeless leadership. Shliach Rabbi Zalman Wolowik, who organized the event, was thrilled at the huge kiddush Hashem as people from a broad cross spectrum of the local community came to show their support.

The keynote speaker was Rabbi Chaim Miller, author of the new bestselling biography of the Rebbe, Turning Judaism Outward. Brimming with exuberance and a palpable love for the Rebbe, Rabbi Miller energized the crowd with British eloquence and inspiring insights from the Rebbe’s life.

Introducing the event, Rabbi Wolowik noted why he had chosen Rabbi Miller as the guest speaker. “Reb Chaim Miller found tremendous strength wisdom and relevance in the Rebbe’s teachings to every single Jew and for that matter to every person. He has made the Rebbe’s teachings available and accessible to thousands.”

After a series of questions and answers and inspirational video of the Rebbe, lines extended for over an hour to get a signed copy of the new book from the author.

“I am just amazed,” Rabbi Wolowik enthused after the evening. “Normally as time passes, things become more distant, but as we hit the 20th Gimmel Tammuz there seems to be a growing interest among people in connecting with the Rebbe. And the thought that so many of our congregants will go home and spend hours reading about the Rebbe’s life and teachings is simply inspiring.”
