Clouds Part for a Day of Lag Ba’omer Fun in Boston
After Bostonians saw hours of rain in the morning and afternoon of Lag Ba’omer, the clouds parted and the sun shined its first rays on the 13th annual Shaloh House Lag Ba’omer Extravaganza!
Nearly 300 children crowded a park in Brighton, MA to partake in the festivities in true Bar Yochai spirit, while enjoying 3 different moon-bounces and obstacle courses, a variety of carnival style games, designing and flying Lag Ba’omer kites and of course a delicious BBQ.
After the activities, the children gathered for a grand rally of Pesukim, songs, and stories, followed by an exotic animal show. The show featured animals such as alligator, lemur, fox, porcupine, ferret, and large Boa Constrictor.
The connection to Lag Ba’omer? Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai teaches us to draw lessons in Avodas Hashem even from the lowliest and exotic animals.
