Children Enjoy Hands-On Passover Experience

The Chabad of Northwest Connecticut provided children with the unique opportunity of hands on educational experience that has added holiday spirit, fun and education during its Model Matzah Bakery this past week at the Chabad Lubavitch Community Center.

The Model Matzah Bakery is “an exciting educational and fun experience for the entire family in which participants are able to experience the story and art of Matzah Baking.”

Wheat stalks, brick ovens, millstones, and more were setup to form an old style Matzah Bakery. The children dressed in baker’s hats and were able help with the entire process of Matzah making which included winnowing, threshing, grinding, kneading dough and making their own Matzah.

Following the making of the Matzah participants enjoyed a model Seder while eating crunchy, hot Matzah with cool grape juice.
