Shluchim Reinvigorated at New Jersey Seminar

“More often than not Shluchim need to step back, be reinvigorated and get re-inspired.” These words from Rabbi Michel Gurkov perfectly sum up the motivation behind the full-day Shluchim seminar with Rabbi Manis Friedman, held Monday at the spacious Chabad of Monmouth County headquarters in Manalpan, NJ.

For 15 uninterrupted hours, 35 Shluchim from the tri-state area enjoyed a non-stop marathon of learning, Fabrenging and “being re-inspired.” Arranged by Rabbi Zalman A. Friedman of It’s Good to Know, the seminar was graciously hosted by Chabad of Western Monmouth County and its director Rabbi Boruch Chazanow.

“To put on such a program just to enlighten us…it’s so refreshing,” wrote Rabbi Avi Richler of Chabad of Gloucester County, NJ. “Rabbi Manis Friedman’s interaction with the Shluchim is invaluable, and having someone of that caliber doing such a tremendous service is an amazing way to inspire Shluchim and keep them grounded.”

Rabbi Yitzchok Moully of Chabad in Basking Ridge, NJ described the seminar as an “Oasis in time, giving us the chance to pause and think about the things that are really important.”

While some Shluchim appreciated most the serious discussions about family life and the Chinuch of our own children, others drew inspiration from the actual learning. “It was very nice to be able to have an opportunity to learn a Maamar without distractions,” said Rabbi Levi Schapiro of Yeshiva Beis Menachem in Manalapan, NJ. “It’s getting back to old-fashioned basics and their real input into modern issues.”

Rabbi Chazanow spoke enthusiastically about the feedback he received from the attending Shluchim. “It was a great experience! Rabbi Friedman was very inspirational, highly motivating and gave us Shluchim a chance to focus strongly on the Pnimius Hakavana of our Shlichus.”

“Many Farbrengens are…you don’t leave any more inspired than you came,” commented Rabbi Gurkov, “But Rabbi Friedman’s Farbrengen had real Toichen and that’s what I left with more than anything else. It was a real Chassidishe Farbrengen and I would have been even happier if it had gone on for many, many more hours.”

Rabbi Chazanow added, “It was very nice working with Rabbi Zalman A. Friedman of It’s Good to Know and all the Shluchim asked that it happen more often.”

  • COTS

Rabbi Manis Freidman should open a COTS style program! He would be great and we would not have to worry about whether it is proper haskofeh

    • He did!

It was this amazing video that came out about a year ago. It featured Manis talking to a group of mechanichim and explaining them how to deal with a variety of people in pain. Thanx to Manis, many people overcame abuse simply by being degraded. Youre awesome Manis.

  • Just saying

Well guess what …. This is what the Kinus was suposed to ba all about.

But then came the hoopla and the fancy stuff. So the Iker was left on the sidelines

  • How true

Rabbi Manis hasn’t addressed the entire kinus for as far back as I can remember.
He’s the best we have and yet year after year we hear from the same people over and over again.
What gives? His he blacklisted? Does he refuse to wear kapote to the banquet? Is that it?

  • Rabbi Manis
