New Shluchim to Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine

Just before the annual Kinus Hashluchim, the Jewish community of Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine welcomed four new families, who joined the 40 existing families of Shluchim active in the city.

The new Shluchim will work on strengthening the existing moisdos in the city, as well as establishing new ones.

Rabbi Chaim chazzan and Rabbi Eliyahu Cheifer will lead a newly opened Yeshiva Ketana for the children of Shluchim in the city. The Yeshiva will be located in a pastoral, quiet environment in the outskirts of Dnepropetrovsk, and offer a high level learning experience.

Their wives, Mrs. Rivki Chazzan (nee Weinberg) and Mrs. Maryashya Cheifer (nee Vilenkin – a great granddaughter of Rabbi Shneur Zalman Vilenkin – the Rebbe’s childhood teacher in Dnepropetrovsk), will teach at the girls’ school, Beis Chaya Mushka.

Rabbi Menacham Mendel Feldman will teach at the existing Yeshivas Beis Levi Yitzchok. Rabbi Feldman has also been appointed as the Mashpia of Anash in Dnepropetrovsk. His wife, Malki (nee Rivkin), will teach at the Beis Chana Institute.

Rabbi Altman will teach at the Beis Chana Institute and at the Shiurei Torah organization. His wife, Elisheva (nee Vachtman), will be involved in the women’s activities.

A reception for the new Shluchim was held by the head Shluchim of Dnepropetrovsk, Rabbi Shmuel and Chana Kaminezki; together with Rabbi Meyer and Sara Stambler, directors of the Beis Chana Institute; and Rabbi Yossi and Sara Glick, directors of Tzivos Hashem in the former Soviet Union.
