New Shluchim to Auckland, New Zealand
Rabbi Levi Yitzchok and Shoshanah Sarfati and their son Menachem Mendel will be joining the team of Shluchim in New Zealand, together they will iy”h be directing the North Island’s Chabad House for Israeli backpackers in Auckland City, where many thousands of young Israelis travel through each year.
“In the aftermath of the earthquake and its devastation this appointment is part of our ongoing efforts and commitment to Jewish outreach, education and community life in New Zealand” says Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky of Lubavitch World Headquarters.
Many of the artifacts rescued from the Canterbury Chabad House are set to be moved to the new Chabad House in Auckland.
While the Chabad Center is no longer based in Canterbury, Chabad of New Zealand continues to reach out to the stricken region that has yet again experienced strong earthquakes this past week.
The new Shluchim were appointed by Rabbi Menachem M. Goldstein, Head Shliach of New Zealand.
