LA Mayor to Celebrate 10 Years of Chanuka @ Citywalk
In what has become a tradition for the Jewish community of Los Angeles, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will once again attend Chabad of the Valley’s Chanukah @ Citywalk celebration and concert. In addition to the Mayor, many other local and state dignitaries will take part in the celebration of 10 years of this landmark event that has become known as Southern California’s largest Chanuka celebration.
Over the past 9 years the stage at Universal Studios Citywalk has come to life on Chanuka with rousing and memorable performances by many superstars of the Jewish music world, including Mordechai Ben David, Avraham Fried, Lipa Schmeltzer, Yossi Piamenta. Lenny Solomon and the Moshav Band. Many rising stars, including 8th Day, Benny Friedman and Pardes Jewish Rock credit this unique opportunity to showcase their talent in front of the many thousands assembled at the Citywalk celebration, as having helped launch their career.
If the past 9 years are any indication of the future, than this 10th anniversary certainly promises to be an outstanding, supercharged event that will once again spread the light of Chanukah to thousands of people.
This year’s Chabad’s Chanukah @ Citywalk will take place on the first night of Chanukah, Tuesday, December 20th from 6 – 9 PM.”
