Smolensk Children Experience Jewish Camp for First Time
Another pin on the Gan Israel world map was just added. Smolensk, Russia just completed it’s first year of day camp.
The camp was under the auspices of Rabbi Levi Mondshine, shliach and chief rabbi of Smolensk and the Smolensk Region (which includes the town of Lubavitch). The camp was very capably run by Chayale Mondshine and Liba Machlin.
The campers, who as of yet do not keep Torah and MItzvos, experienced two incredible weeks packed with a Jewish Chassidishe atmosphere, lots of Jewish knowledge, and many trips, attractions and shows.
At the conclusion of camp it was clearly noticeable how much the children already learned and absorbed and how their lives were changed.
