DC Jewish Internes Enjoy Cruise
A crowd of over 70 Jewish interns boarded a vessel at Washington Marina for the annual Jewish Interns cruise. An overview of the US-Irael relationship was given by Congressman Ted Deutch (D-FL).
Congressman Ted Deutch (D-FL) joined them and gave them an overview of the US-Israel relationship as well as the current situation in the Middle East from his unique vantage point as Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa.
The interns were then able to ask questions and shmooze with the Congressman, who made a special effort to be there despite pressing votes and committee hearings. A sushi and falafel supper followed as they were cruising on the potomac and got to see the Washington, DC sites, including a brilliantly illuminated Nationals Park, from the water.
The cruise was sponsored by NJIN – The National Jewish Interns Network, a project of American Friends of Lubavitch (Chabad), which offers Shabbat dinners, weekly classes and other social opportunities to Jewish interns in Washington, DC for the summer.
