Rabbi Anchelle Perl, who heads the National Council for the Furtherance of Jewish Education on Long Island and Chabad of Mineola, will star as the first ultra-orthodox stunt man in his annual Chanukah telethon, to air live on Sunday, December 10, 7 PM - 11 PM, on WLNY-TV.

Chabad Rabbi Turns Stunt Man To Raise Money For Chanukah Telethon

Rabbi Anchelle Perl, who heads the National Council for the Furtherance of Jewish Education on Long Island and Chabad of Mineola, will star as the first ultra-orthodox stunt man in his annual Chanukah telethon, to air live on Sunday, December 10, 7 PM – 11 PM, on WLNY-TV.

In addition to his many guests including rocking DJ host Mickey B, the entertaining Lenny Sololmon and his Shlock Rock band, and a performance by the Chassidic “Dancing Rabbis,” Rabbi Perl will be featured in videoed stunts he has performed. They include:

Rabbi Perl as a racing car driver, practicing on Jones Beach, (stopped by a real policeman).

Rabbi Perl in a hot air balloon, showing “the sky’s the limit” when it comes to raising money to help people of all walks of life.

Rabbi Perl riding his Harley Davidson on stage, and modeling his exclusive Harley Davidson yarmulke.

“It’s all about saving lives,” says Rabbi Perl, quoting the theme of the telethon. NCFJE on Long Island sponsors outreach to drug rehab centers, Good Deed Awards for teenagers, hospital visitation to the lonely and elderly, toys for hospitalized children, teenage volunteer programs for children with special needs, bar and bat mitzvah programs and Hebrew Schools for the unaffiliated.

A very special guest on the telethon is Holocaust Survivor Herman Rosenblatt, who had his bar mitzvah several months ago at the age of 75, thanks to Rabbi Perl. Viewers will see the gala celebration on videotape. Rabbi Perl discovered Mr. Rosenblatt when he read his miraculous love story, about how, through a blind date, he met the girl who fed him through the barbed wire of a concentration camp in Germany when he was only 16 years old.

During the telethon, several contributors to NCFJE Chabad of Mineola will be honored and presented with awards including: John M. Spellman, attorney for village of Mineola and partner at Spellman Rice Schure Gibbons and McDonough; John Allen, VP of Daniel F Allen the Roll-Off & Container Company; Robert Rine & Barry Wohl partners at T.W.O. Inc and Kive I. Strickoff, CPA’s & Strickoff Financial Services,

“We are here for you 364 days of the year. Now please be here for us one this one day, Sunday, December 10, by donating to our Chanukah Telethon,” says Rabbi Perl. The goal for the telethon is $500,000.

Annual Extravaganza to Air Live Sunday, 12/10, in Tri-State Area on WLNY-TV55 and LIVE on the internet at www.chanukahtelethon.com

Why does he still speak about this old man and the girl who fed him food through the wires whom he later married? The woman is a shiksa! Don’t people realize that thats why she was on the other side of the fence? What mitzvah is there to publicize the fact that this poor man has been married to a non jewish woman for 50 years? And to make a whole romantic love story out of it?!? Don’t people have any shame to publicize this story?!? All I can say is that I’m shocked.

here is a chice i want all readers to make.

1000’s of people are about to hear this story. this man is having a documentry movie made about him and his life story, and to be honest, its a story that is pretty amaizing.

    heres the choice

you find out you are able to through your conections, give this man a bar mitzvah that will become part of his life and part of his documentry.

do you use out this oppertunity to show 1000’s of people how important it is to have a bar mitzvah. to put on tefilin.

or do you say that this person married a shiksa (if thats even true) and ignore the oppertunity to make him have a chance to get olam haba

o you ignore this oppertunity to do the rebbes mivtzoim.

    make the choice and post

just for the record. the wife of Herman Rosenblatt who we made bar mitzvah is Jewish her name is rivkah. she and her entire family were saved by a local priest who gave them 10 aryan passports so they remained hidden and found themselves in a country estate bordering the concentration camp where she would give herman food over the fence.
