Free Thanksgiving Dinners to Be Delivered to the Infirm

Chabad of SE Morris County will once again be providing Thanksgiving dinners free of charge to individuals throughout Morris County who are alone or home bound during the holiday. Catered dinners will be delivered by volunteers to the homes of those in need on Thanksgiving morning, helping to share the holiday spirit with others.

Despite the economy, in recent years “we have continued to increase our efforts to reach home bound individuals during the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, said Rabbi Shalom Lubin, who is coordinating this project.

“There are many residents of our county who are all alone and unable to get out, and this project will enable them to celebrate with a full course dinner delivered to their door.”

The Thanksgiving Dinners for the Homebound project has been sponsored by a grant from the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey.

Chabad of SE Morris County is located at 42 Park Ave in Madison, and provides Jewish outreach, educational and social services, to the Morris County Community.

To request a dinner for someone in need, or to make a contribution towards the Thanksgiving Dinners for the Homebound project, please call Chabad of SE Morris County at (973) 377-0707 or email: info@chabadcares.com.

Is this a new mivtza after Gimmel Tammuz? Is this the one that will bring us straight to Geula? How off track can you get?

  • BT Too

To #9: How is it your task to slap a label on someone (presumably a BT, no less) who’s searching for a sense of identity and perhaps acceptance?

Are you really intimidated by a BT who eats a Thanksgiving meal with his family? Did it ever occur to you that he’s doing more to bring Moshiach by including his non-frum family in one evening of togetherness than you’ve done your entire “real Chabad” life.

Chabad is not a system of looks and labels – it’s about action. Do good in this world and if you have a problem with BT’s who’ve found a way to meaningfully connect with their fry families, please keep it to yourself.

    @#6 and 10
    thanksgiving is quite nice,
The Rebbe mentioned it in one of his Sichos,
if he mentioned it we may as well celebrate giving and equality. Just like a small day where we make a seudah and do more to bring Moshaich. Doesnt hurt, even if its status is just a regular yom chol :)
