Bedouin Muslim Inspires Jewish University Students

Over 50 students were amazed on hearing Yishmael Khaldi speak at Chabad of Liverpool Universities, on what they can do for Judaism and Israel. Yishmael is from a Bedouin village outside Haifa where he had to walk four miles to get to school, but that didn’t deter him from eventually achieving a Bachelor and Masters degree in political science.

He was the political adviser to Avigdor Lieberman and vice consul to Israel, he currently works in the Israeli Embassy in London.

Yishmael opened by praising the work of Chabad globally and showed his appreciation for all the work the Shluchim do. He inspired the students to speak up and be proud of their Judaism by wearing their Yarmulkas on campus without any shame.

He told them how to deal with anti-Israel and anti-Semitic remarks and debates, he also addressed the issue on how it feels to be one of a few high ranking Muslim diplomats from Israel. Everyone expressed their thanks to Rabbi Shmuli and Tzivia Brown for hosting an event that encouraged them to be proud of their Judaism.
