Margaret Thatcher’s Minister of Trade speaks at Chabad

Lord Young and Rabbi Dovid Masinter of Chabad House Johannesburg together with a captivated audience.

Lord David Young, Margaret Thatcher’s Minister of Trade and Industry addressed a Chabad Boardroom Forum in Johannesburg this week on a variety of current affairs issues.

Lord Young served in Margaret Thatcher’s cabinet for a total of five years.

Whereas she rarely accepted excuses for non-attendance at cabinet meetings, Lord Young said one exception she always allowed for, was Jewish religious holidays.

Lord Young believes that it is beneficial for everyone to be active in some form of charity work, not only for its own-sake, but so too for the fortunate by-products involved such as meeting people one otherwise would not have met, broadening one’s networking capabilities and creating innovative and potentially untapped business opportunities.
