Chabad of Great Neck Celebrates Simchas Beis Hashoeva
Chabad of great Great Neck hosted beautiful concert in celebration of Simchas Beis Hashoeva. Over 2,000 people attended the first annual event this yesterday, Sunday evening.
Though it was arranged last minute (a week before Sukkos), 2,000 people came on Sunday evening for the first annual Chabad of Great Neck, NY simchas beis hashoeva. It was a huge kiddush Hashem. Local Sephardic singer, Ari Perets entertained the crowd. The concert intermission was utilized to entertain the Children with a juggling show by ‘Budapest Jugglers’. The event was in Firefighters Park in Great Neck. A sukka was constructed in the park for the evening of the simchas beis hashoeiva.
One of the first frum Great Neck residents commented; that he was told when he first moved into Great Neck in the mid 70’s that he forgot to remove the kippa after the funeral he was coming from! (such was the assumption in Great Neck in those days when one was seen wearing a kippa). He was deeply moved and overwhelmed by the transformation of Yiddishkeit that Great Neck experienced since the arrival of Chabad in the late 80’s.

It was a great idea to have such a program on sukkot in great neck. The Jewish community in this neighborhood needs to arrange more of these kinds of events. I thank chabad of great neck and especially Rabbi Geizinsky for sponsoring yesterday,s event.

The Geisinsky family have impacted upon Great Neck in countless ways since their arrival over 20 years ago,Without publicity they have established a school, shul and has played a major role in bringing Yiddishkeit to our community
