Chabad of South Hills Presents Pre-Yom Kippur Lecture with Rabbi Shais Taub
Chabad of the South Hills Jewish Center for Living and Learning hosted a special pre-Yom Kippur lecture with Rabbi Shais Taub entitled The Art of Forgiveness: Return to the Sacred Self.
Chabad of the South Hills’ spiritual leader, Rabbi Mendel Rosenblum, organized the lecture at this busy time of year in order to inspire his community to enter the holy day of Yom Kippur encouraged and inspired. A capacity crowd filled the synagogue to hear Taub speak
and he opened his words by telling them what an incredible community they must be to not only come to synagogue throughout the High Holidays but to also come to hear words of Torah.
Taub spoke about the need for letting go of resentments in order to become free for spiritual growth and explained how Torah gives us the tools to transcend the pain of our past. This was a message that obviously resonated with the crowd. Following the talk, Rabbi Rosenblum was delighted to recieve a number of thankful emails, phone calls and text messages from members of his community who said they were moved by Taub’s words.
The lecture was recorded live and posted to the chabad.org video site, Jewish.TV, to be aired the night of Erev Yom Kippur.
