Chabad at the Beaches 7th Anniversary Dinner

Chabad at the Beaches recently held its 7th anniversary dinner. There was not an extra seat in the house.

The evening featured a delicious four course delectable dinner. Chabad @ the Beaches took our annual dinner to another level with the original rappin’ reggae rabbi, Dr. Laz. His talk titled Skullcaps ‘n Switchblades, focused on his experiences as an inner city Buffalo public school teacher as well as his experiences at bringing together the Jewish and black communities following the Crown Heights riots in New York.

During the dinner, Chabad @ the Beaches recognized Zohar and Yona Levites’ outstanding attributes and their importance to our community as one of the founding families of Chabad @ the Beaches. The Levites’ were presented with the Founders Award.

Mr. Kalman Rothman received the Friend of Chabad Award in appreciation for his seven years of support, dedication and consistent giving to Chabad. Together with his wife Chanie, the Rothmans have proven to be kind, generous and gracious in their involvement with Chabad @ the Beaches.

Also during the Dinner, Chabad honored Dr. Pam Ervanian with the Aishet Chayil (Women of Valor) Award for her commitment and devotion to the Jewish community in the Beaches area. We also used this occasion to publicly show our appreciation to Rabbi Eli Wilansky, who has truly enhanced our community throughout this year. His programs both with teens and adults have become an integral part of our organization.

After the dinner a Farbrengen commenced, Dr Laz told personal stories of the Rebbe. The Farbrengen lasted deep into the night. when Shacharis followed shortly after.
