The final event of the year was a unique event led by Jewish Women’s Circle leader Chana Burston. At the fascinating workshop of “Shabbat in 59 Minutes”, Burston led a cooking demonstration for forty women in which she shared techniques and ideas of how to make an elegant Shabbat dinner in under an hour. Burston made twelve different dishes All participants received a recipe booklet and sampled the dishes. Door prizes included a framed “Women of Valor” prayer traditionally sung to the women on Friday night. Burston also led a discussion on how to make the Friday night Shabbat experience more meaningful, sharing songs, traditions and insights. The event was hosted by Dr. Seth and Nadine Pulver of Highland Mills.
