5 Shluchim Schools Convene for “Yud Shevat 60” in NJ
“The Rebbe stands with pride as his Shluchim he leads…”
The sounds of over 170 Tzeirei Hashluchim echoed in the large gym in North Brunswick NJ.
These are not just Lubavitch children, but children of Shluchim living in over 50 cities who learn in small “Chadorim”.
The children were gathered from all over the Tri-state area in commemoration of Yud Shevat – Shishim Shanah. Hosted by Cheder Menachem of New Jersey, schools arrived from Pennsylvania, Long Island, Yonkers, Stamford and Queens.
As the students entered the hallway, they entered a garden – complete with Shiva Rekiim, bringing the Ma’amer Basi Legani to life. Each classroom opened doors of opportunity for study and interaction on various themes surrounding Yud Shevat and its message.
After an inspiring morning of workshops, discussions and crafts, the students were welcomed to a grand banquet. With Rabbi Mendy Alevsky moderating the event, the children sang Niggunim, said the Pesukim and watched performances all surrounding the theme of Basi Legani – making this world a Garden for Hashem. From music to a juggler show, inspirational film clips and song – each moment was meaningful.
What was remarkable was the opportunity for every child to interact with children just like them – young shluchim who are living in areas inaccessible to mainstream schools such as Beis Rivkah, etc. The cognizance that they are not the only ones, but a member of a large army of Tzeirei HaShluchim who also travel an hour to go to the Rebbe’s Cheder was uplifting and empowering. You could already hear the buzz amongst the girls as new friendships were formed in readiness for the upcoming Kinus Tzeirei HaShluchos camp.
The most inspiring moment was when the students took upon themselves the Hachlata of giving Nachas Ruach to the Rebbe through their Mitzvos and actions. Each child received a Journal where they will record their accomplishments. These journals will be brought to the Ohel on Yud Aleph Nissan as a present to the Rebbe.
The afternoon ended with a group photo of all the participants. The schools left with a firm commitment to continue their efforts in Chassidishe Chinuch for Tzeirei HaShluchim.
Much thanks to all the teachers, parents and staff of Cheder Menachem of NJ for their efforts and input. Special thanks to coordinators, Mrs. Chanie Zaklikovsky, Shlucha of Monroe, NJ, and Mrs. Goldie Azimov, South Brunswick Shlucha on making every detail of this special day the success that it was.
