The man in the jalabiya and fez in the top picture (looking at the picture of the Rebbe) might be the famous and very powerful former Interior Minister of Morocco, Driss Basri. I cannot tell for sure as the only pictures available of the late Mr Basri are more recent ones in which he was suffering from a terminal illness LA.
Having been in Morocco and having spent much time with Reb Leibel Raskin AH I know there is a picture of Mr Basri with the shluchim and that despite his tight control over the country’s affairs when it came to potential rebels, Mr Basri was very helpful toward Chabad and Jews in general.
I assume the picture of R’ Matusof AH in his office was the office in the shul on Verlet Hanus as it does not look like Reb Leibel AH’s office in the Beis Rivka. I was in Casablanca just after Rav Matusof AH left though I had the zechus of davening right behind him in Beis Levi Yitzchok and was zoiche to hear his firsthand account of his life in pre and post WW2 Soviet Russia/Belarus on his 90th birthday.
May we soon be zoiche to be reunited with Rav Matusof and Reb Leibel A”H in Yerushalayim with “Machiah maintenant/Machiah ahaoua za!”
