Simcha Monica Celebrates Sukkos in the Street

More than 600 men, women and children participated in the first ever Simchas Bais Hashoava in Simcha Monica, CA on Wednesday the third day of chol hamoed. Special permits from the city were granted to close the street just one week prior to the event.

Each person participating was given a list of activities to check off as they did it. From pony rides, moon bounce and slide, cotton candy, snow cones to making a brocha on the Lulov and Esrog, washing hands before bread, eating in the Sukkah and participating in the Tzivos Hashem Rally. Children earned raffle tickets for doing the Mitzvos to win a video camera and mp3 player.

The audience watched spellbound as a special entertainer juggled knives and fire. The Ariel Louk Band played music and there was some awesome dancing in the streets. There was plenty of food to eat and Sukkahs to enjoy it! This was the first time this Sukkos that many participated in the Mitzvos of Sukkos. With great thanks to all the Bochurim that made it possible. A fun and memorable time was had by all. This will surely become a yearly tradition!
