The Chabad Student Network of Ottawa, serving the Jewish students of Ottawa U and Carleton, had its Kick off events on the weekend of Sept 11-13.
The kick off events began with a Chinese Shabbat dinner, where close to 150 students came. At the dinner , presidents of Chabad , of Hillel and Aepi addressed those attending. Speakers included, Adam Berktin, Gary Fine and Jon Brownstein of the Chabad executive, as well as Chelsea Sauve, Jen Hadad and Mark Friedman of the Chabad Exec.
On Sunday Sept 13, hundreds of Jewish students enjoyed a fantastic BBQ, according to Pesach Wolf “I think I BBQ’ed close to 1000 hamburgers and hotdogs”.
At the event new activities were announced, and all were encouraged to take part in all the activities going on at the CSN.
