Lag Ba’Omer BBQ, Bonfire and Kumzits in Monroe
MONROE, NY [CHI] — In celebration of Lag B’omer, a BBQ, Bonfire & Kumzits was hosted by Chabad of Orange County in the home of Rabbi Pesach & Chana Burston in Monroe, NY.
The special evening, for adults and teens, began with a delicious BBQ, (compliments to Gil Goetz of Monroe and Lester Pleeter of Chester who manned the grill!), L’chaim and socializing.
After the dinner, everyone gathered around the bonfire and was inspired by a delightful Kumzits-gathering with Nissen Brenenson, a childhood friend of Rabbi Burston, who now serves as the Director of Education at the renowned Jewish Children’s Museum in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
Nissen shared stories, insights and melodies while everyone participated in song, musical instruments – and roasting marshmallows.
