VESTAL, NY — Binghamton University students and members of the community celebrated a traditional Jewish Arts Festival.
Students learned the method behind making the torah and other religious items.
They then spent the day piecing together the items themselves.
“They are making the traditional Havdala Candle, some students are making their own Mezuzot cover. They’re all sacred jewish rituals. And it’s not every day the students here ate Binghamton get to see how these things are made, and make their very own articles,” said Rabi Levi Slonim of the Chabad Center.
More than 150 people made it out to the festival.
