Torah Dedication at Chabad House S Diego

S DIEGO, CA [CHI] — On Sunday, January 25th, 29 Teves a beautiful Hachnosos Sefer Torah was held at Chabad House on Montezuma Road in S. Diego. This Chabad House was established over 30 years ago, and recently with the move of the main Chabad Center to Scripps Ranch, Chabad House has been run successfully by Campus Shluchim, Rabbi Chalom and Mairav Boudjnah.

The Sefer Torah was donated by Rabbi Chalom’s parents, Rabbi Dovid and Arlette Boujnah to the students at San Diego State’s Chabad House in memory of their parents, Yvone & Chalom Boudjnah and Charles and Batkia Guigue and in memory of Rabbi Gabi and Rivki Holtzberg. Over 1000 letters were sold in the Sefer Torah and Sofer, Rabbi Eldad Drori flew in from New York to finish the Sefer Torah. The event was very well attended with guests flying in from New York and Israel to join the over 100 students, community members and Shluchim. Catering very ably done by Rebbetzin Mairav and her Ladies.

The Torah was taken under a Chuppah from Chabad House down Montezuma Road, to College Avenue and to the Jewish Fraternity House, A E II, with joyous singing and dancing, and then returned with Hakafot to the Aron Kodesh in Chabad House. . All in all, a wonderful and exciting function at Chabad House.
