Chabad Lights The Lamp – 14,277 in Attendance

WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY [CHI] — On the third night of Chanukah The Nassau Coliseum on Long Island witnessed history being made. As the first period of the hockey game, Islanders vs the Thrashers ended. The Zamboni entered the arena followed by a 6 food Menorah.

All in attendance excitedly awaited the entry of the Chabad team led by Rabbi Yossi Lieberman of Chabad of West Hempstead along with his 3 Lamplighters and cantor Joshua Levine.

A Chanukah message was delivered by the Rabbi, followed by the Brachos and lighting of the Menorah each candle by another lamplighter.

As the third light was li,t Cantor Joshua Levine led everyone in a rendition of Maoz Tzur.

The Chabad group of Aorox 400 got many perks from the Islanders, meeting and high-fiving the players, zamoboni ride, watching the pre game skate from the penalty box and attending the morning skate.

Chabad also had a kiosk on the concourse with Menorahs, dreidels, Chnukah chaocolate gelt and hoilday guides available.

There was a minyan for mariv at the Chabad kiosk between first and second period and all members of the Chabad group received a special Chanukah gift from the Islanders

The entire Chabad presintation was broadcast on the Jumbo-tron.

    Mendel, I see that you use a computer just like the goyim, but I will not dwell on that, but rather the 100+ menorahs and guides that were delivered to Yidden who did not even think to have a Menorah to light this year, who will now be lighting the Chanukah lights and brightening their homes as a result of this act of Kiddush Hashem and Pirsumei Nissah.
