OAHU, HI [CHI] — For its second year running, Hawaii had a car Menorah parade with over 25 cars in participation! Beginning from the Kaimuki High School on the Oahu Island, then running down Waikik and through downtown Honolulu, spreading the light of Chanukah in urban Hawaii.

25 Menorah Car Parade in… Hawaii!

OAHU, HI [CHI] — For its second year running, Hawaii had a car Menorah parade with over 25 cars in participation! Beginning from the Kaimuki High School on the Oahu Island, then running down Waikik and through downtown Honolulu, spreading the light of Chanukah in urban Hawaii.

The parade ended at King Kealakekua Park, where the Governor of Hawaii Linda Lingle was on hand to light the public Menorah. Menorahs were also put up at airports on Oahu and other islands including Kauai and the Big Island.

This year’s Chanukah events in Hawaii were directed by the Bochurim Tzvi Greenberg, Avremi Epstein and Moishe Lew.

    To “Crown Heights” : Shmulik Schneerson is far from chopped liver; he is just an anav – he authored the article. But, from the perspective of the “hanhala” here in Hawaii, his assistance was invaluable. Thanks for remembering to note his name as an active leader in all our Hawaii peulos. And I must tell you, it was an AMAZING sight to see all those care menorahs parade around Honolulu…WE got an incredible response. Hopefully, the Rebbe is shepping chassidishe nachas.     TO all those ivolved making this parade the success it was, thank you very much!. I would like to take this oppurtunity in giving special recongnition to 3 special Bochurim, who arranged this parade, but the buck doesnt stop there, they give numerous shiurim a week! do Mivtza Tefilin on daily basis, and do a whole lot more to promote yiddishkeit in distant Hawaii!. I would also like to add, that Shmulik S. was instrumental in helping the Bochurim make this Chanukah a great success, in regards to the parade, and in regards to the Chanukah party’s that will happen I”yh soon in the coming days!. Keep up the good work!.
