Jewish Camp Season Wraps Up in Estonia
TALLINN, Estonia [FJC] — In Tallinn, the annual camp organized for Jewish children of Estonia has wrapped up for this season. Several dozen youngsters participated in this year’s event, which offered the group an interesting and educational program.
The fun-filled two-week camp was organized along the lines of a time machine, with attendees visiting a new epoch in Jewish history every day. With great enthusiasm, both the children and counselors demonstrated good knowledge and high spirits throughout the sessions.
The closing ceremony, which took place at the Tallinn Jewish Community Center, involved Chief Rabbi of Estonia Shmuel Kot and his wife. Many of the parents approached community leaders to thank them for this opportunity, expressing their desire to have their children attend next year. Everyone present was also thrilled to hear the news that a new Ohr Avner Chabad Day School would be opening in Tallinn, as well as a Center for Torah Studies for adult learners.
The Jewish community of Tallinn, headed by Rabbi Shmuel Kot and its President Boris Oks, is a member of the Federation of Jewish Communities of the CIS.
