Ukraine Jewish School Produces Graduating Class
DNEPRODZERZHINSK, Ukraine [FJC] — In the Ukrainian city of Dneprodzerzhinsk, the Ohr Avner Chabad Day School hosted its final event of the academic year – a ceremony to mark the conclusion of studies for its graduates. After eleven years of schooling and equipped with a solid Jewish upbringing, these youth are now ready to embark on their unique individual paths.
High school diplomas were presented to six graduates, one of whom – Andrei Khazipov – also received a gold medal for his outstanding academic success. As the school’s virtual valedictorian and as a leading student who demonstrated kindness, intellect, good spirit and involvement in all school activities, his peers looked on supportively as he accepted his award.
Chief Rabbi of Dneprodzerzhinsk Levi Stambler handed out this award and the high school diplomas. Parents, siblings, teachers and fellow community members looked on in pride as these enthusiasts marked a major achievement in their young life. The teachers joined together in conducting one last exam that was quite humorous, while the students responded by reading several poems dedicated to their mentors.
On this celebratory evening these students – some of them with tears in their eyes – reflected on their school years, while simultaneously looking pragmatically to the future and all its prospects.
